Manager of Energy Analytics within the Buildings Practice at the Rocky Mountain Institute, her work draws from her experience in building performance simulation, integrated design, portfolio analysis, and measurement & verification to support the development of new energy-efficiency service models, analytics, and standards that promote grid-friendly buildings. Ellen has worked in the building energy field for 25 years.

She has held positions at two DOE research labs, three consulting firms, and one non-profit. She is the vice-chair of the ASHRAE Standard 209 Committee – Energy Simulated Design for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential. She served for 4 years as a board member for the International Building Performance Simulation Association (IBPSA-USA). She also completed a 5-year term on the USGBC Energy & Atmosphere Technical Advisory Group. Ellen holds an MS and PhD in Building Systems Engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
