Happy New Year and welcome to the second issue of e.Valuation, EVO's subscriber newsletter. I hope you find this newsletter informative and useful to your professional pursuits. I also hope you feel inspired to share your experience with the EVO community by submitting your own article in the future. The discipline of "M&V" and efficiency valuation is constantly evolving. This newsletter is meant to support the community as a journal of facts, events and discussion. Please contribute.

As the only organization in the world solely focused on quantifying and valuing energy efficiency, EVO faces many challenges. While no one doubts that activity and funding for energy efficiency and climate change projects is increasing around the globe, it is equally clear that there is not yet unanimity on how to verify and report the results of these activities. From project savings and program evaluation to GHG projects, it is a constant struggle just to remain current on all of the various program requirements.

We at EVO sincerely believe that we can and will play a significant role in reducing the complexity of implementing programs, schemes and mechanisms. Standardized tools and methods, and abundant training and certification are the foundation of our strategy. The EVO web site is a critical tool. But you, the user community are the most important element and our best chance for success.

I look forward to reading about your efforts in future newsletters and "seeing" you frequently on web site and around the globe.

Best wishes and good luck on your projects,

Steve K.
