Monterrey (Mexico), December 19, 2024 – The Efficiency Valuation Organization (EVO) is pleased to announce that it has signed an MOU to share its International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP) training material with Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (TEC).

EVO material will be incorporated in TEC’s Elective E5040 Medición y verificación course, which is offered within the MER – Maestría en Administración de la Energía y sus Fuentes Renovables program. This advanced course intends the student to know and apply concepts of measurement and verification of energy savings based on the IPMVP. At the end of this course, students will have the competencies to identify the elements of an M&V process based on the IPMVP and prepare an IPMVP adherent M&V Plan.

Students who take and pass the E5040 course will have the opportunity to write EVO’s Performance Measurement and Verification Analyst (IPMVP-PMVA) certification exam. This bridges industry and academic efforts to provide students with the best tools to tackle the critical challenges of energy efficiency and renewable projects.

“The Master in Energy Management program at Tec de Monterrey is thrilled to start this collaboration with EVO, aiming to provide students with the invaluable opportunity to obtain the PMVA (Performance Measurement and Verification Analyst) certification. This partnership aligns perfectly with the program's commitment to delivering top-tier education and professional development in the energy sector. By integrating this highly regarded certification, the program not only enhances the student's learning experience but also significantly boosts their career prospects in the competitive field of energy management,” said Dr. Yatziri Rodríguez Guerra, Director of the Master's Degree in Energy Administration and its Renewable Sources.

“We are delighted that TEC officials took the initiative to contact us to discuss how to best incorporate IPMVP training within the MER curriculum. This MOU perfectly aligns with our mission to ensure that the savings and impact of energy efficiency and sustainability projects are accurately measured and verified”, said Denis Tanguay, EVO’s Executive Director.
